NUMB

This is a creative non-fiction piece I am turning in for class and I promised some creative writing to be posted soon, so I thought I'd start with this one... She felt sick. It was third period and she asked to be excused to use the bathroom. 11:00 am... In the bathroom, she throws up, yet it did not make her feel better. Thank goodness it was a half day of school. Once she walked to the elementary school to pick her sister up, she could finally go home and rest…something  didn't  feel right though. What was this feeling?

Mac Makes Me Think...

Reynolds vs. Reynolds: The Cereal Defense is yet another episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia that is a must watch. For those of you who are not familiar with the show, get watching! It's Always Sunny is sick, wrong, hilarious, brilliant, and often exactly on point. This particular episode started out like most of them; with something absolutely ridiculous. But I do not want to discuss anything but the end, and no worries, I will not spoil anything as the scene of focus has nothing to do with the rest of the episode!

A Ramble on Guns and Mental Health

Recently I have seen more and more posts on social media websites about gun control, the lack there of, or there being too much. The recent shooting at an elementary school in Pennsylvania is an awful tragedy that has happened and many people believe that these kinds of incidents would not happen if guns were not allowed to be in the hands of citizens. I do not know exactly where I stand on the gun issue, but I do know that anyone who is inclined to murder a multitude of people has a mental issue, and I think that society needs to address these issues when related to guns and the well-being of all citizens.

Being on Top: Never Apologize

Most people are striving to be something, or somebody, throughout their lives. Whether it be striving to be the best at their job, or wanting to run a marathon, most people have goals they set out accomplish. I recently took a break from accomplishing anything for three weeks (due to a break in school) and began watching Gossip Girl. I never was interested in such a show, but figured, why the hell not? I became addicted and mostly because of the character Blair Waldorf.

Brandles "quirky" Rammble

I like to deem myself a very friendly and understanding person who does not judge, but I often think about how others see me, and I am not sure they agree. I have quirks just like everyone else, but mine are somewhat odd, and although they even annoy me, I truly mean no harm by them.

Everything Must Go

Everything Must Go, a movie starring Will Ferrell, is brilliant. Some critics, and movie watchers alike, did not have much to say about this movie, except that it was not all that good. I disagree. Ferrell is just as amazing in his dramatic acting as he is in his comedic acting. The movie is a wonderful character study of Nick Hasley (Ferrell's character).

Holiday Schmoliday No More!

I remember as a little girl Christmas was an exciting time. My dad, mom, sister, and I would decorate the tree while listening to Christmas music. We would always go to my Grandma Bohm's house on Christmas Eve and have a wonderful dinner and see tons of family. Then on Christmas morning my little sister and I would wake up to stockings stuffed with goodness and tons of presents under the tree. After opening all of our gifts I would call my best friend Audrey and we would tell each other what we got for Christmas. Next it was off to Grandma Farmer's house for Christmas dinner with the other side of the family. It was a wonderful time of year.
